The primary responsibility of the Project Manager is to ensure present and long term safe execution, operation and economic success of the project by ensuring Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope interests are properly expressed in the Contract and our obligations are diligently executed, thereby fulfilling our commitments to the client.

Here’s What You’ll Get To Do

  • Liaison with Customer (Glazing Sub-contractor, Owner, Project Management Co. & Consultants) on all aspects of the Project.
  • Review and Negotiate the Contract terms and conditions to include Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope tender documents together with the Contract Manager.
  • Be thoroughly familiar with all the Contract documents (Contracts, Drawings and Specifications).
  • Negotiate and obtain Change Orders.
  • Attend Design Assist and Project Meetings.
  • Knowledge and ability to work with OBE order entry and manufacturing computer systems is a big plus
  • Submit samples and reports as required.
  • Work with Engineering Job Captain/Supervisor to set up Shop Drawing and Release Schedule.
  • Work with Designers on project detailing with an aim towards incorporating function, product integrity, economy and ease of installation.
  • Lend experience to Engineers to streamline structural solutions.
  • Ensure shop drawings encompass correct scope and specified materials.
  • Expedite R.F.I. from Client to keep engineering process moving.
  • Coordinate, streamline timing and functions of mock-ups and testing through design, Research and development.
  • Ensure purchasing practices align with the Code of Conduct.
  • Be involved with purchasing decisions regarding pricing, quality, scheduling and delivery processes.
  • Review quality and delivery of supplied products and sign off on supplier invoices.
  • Arrange for compatibility testing and sign-off approvals from suppliers and Consultants.
  • Keep purchasing involved in samples requests/submittals and approval status.
  • Communicate the production schedule requirements and all changes and updates.
  • Be familiar with the Cutting and Shipping Lists.
  • Chair internal meetings and follow-up on action items.
  • Oversee quality control and provide feedback to QC and Production Manager.
  • Follow up on production and back-orders.
  • Protect production lead time through engineering and approval process.
  • Be familiar with the Estimate, allowances and cost codes.
  • Follow up on obtaining Change Orders and forwarding information to Accounting.
  • Prepare and maintain a Project Schedule. Report any slippage to project team.
  • Monitor and update Monthly Job Cost Sheets and provide cost projections.
  • Understand and process forecast spending our project calendar months and quarters.
  • Generate Billing Schedule of Values and forward to the Customer.
  • Prepare Monthly Billing information for Accounting.
  • Follow up on collections and resolve outstanding issues as required.
  • Prepare, obtain and submit Contract Close Out Documents (Warranties, Maintenance Info and Engineer’s Letters of Assurance & Compliance).

Here’s What We’re Looking For

  • Degree or Diploma in Project Management, Building Science, Architecture or Engineering.
  • Basic knowledge of OBE products or similar Unitized Curtain Wall design and concepts         
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Project Management in the curtain wall, exterior cladding and related construction business
  • Direct experience in coordinating and managing custom curtain wall projects
  • Experience in dealing with contractors, owners, developers and suppliers on all aspects of project management.
  • Sales and estimating experience is a plus
