Architectural Manufacture Seeks Planning Director

The Planning Manager position will be a key role in supply chain, working closely with Operations, Demand Planning, Procurement and Engineering teams. This role will be critical in laying down the foundation and drive the implementation of S&OP & Strategic Planning process among other responsibilities and projects.

Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000

About the position:

  • A leading member of the Manufacturing Planning department tasked to drive process improvement to ensure efficient and accurate production runs aiming to meet and exceed customers’ expectations.
  • This role partners with Demand Planning, Manufacturing, Engineering, Sourcing, Purchasing to improve custom product and stock product flow across the distribution network through to the final customer and lead the current efforts to optimize the manufacturing processes at C.R. Laurence.
  • Work with the rest of the supply chain, operations, sales and engineering teams to define and implement demand/supply/inventory planning process focusing on market dynamics and outlook.

What will you be responsible for:

  • Generate Supply & Production Plans for manufacturing locations aligned with Demand patterns generated from customer demand & the S&OP process, while considering production capacity.
  • Define and set clear and challenging Key Performance Indicators for the department aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • Work closely with VP of Engineering and Manufacturing on strategic initiatives to streamline and work to create a more sustainable Production Plan
  • Develop and manage Master Production Schedules for each product group with a target to reduce product lead times from order to delivery.
  • Lead weekly meetings with plants in the region to help determine production trends.
  • Manage the performance and the productivity of the resources.
  • Lead the capacity management and capacity planning process for each site including defining theoretical capacity for each department, capacity constraints, and continuous improvement of efficiency.
  • manage the translation of the demand plan into a supply plan for CRL distribution centers and manufacturing sites
  • Drive and ensure execution of the production plans through purchasing department for distribution centers across the different geographies and production scheduling department for manufacturing.
  • Ensure accuracy of ERP parameters through periodic updates and monitoring the changes in ways of working.
  • Assists Purchasing, Sourcing, and Logistics teams to streamline a more sustainable supply chain.

A few of things we require:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related fields
  • Progressive career in Planning in a production environment.
  • 5-7 years of Metal, Building or Architectural Supply Chain related planning experience
  • 5+ years of management experience
  • Experience in change management projects
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Epicor Experience
