The Facilities Technician is responsible for conducting machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventative maintenance service for building operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are the skills and abilities required.   • Painting and drywall repair
  • Basic plumbing repairs, unclog drains, etc.
  • Install conduit, terminal boxes and wiring for simple circuits and add receptable circuits.
  • Maintenance of air compressors and air driers
  • MIG welding to repair items damaged around the plant
  • Use man-lifts, ladders, and be able to work at heights, on the roof and outside work
  • Must follow all OSHA and plant safety rules including, lock-out, etc.
  • Fabrication ability
  • Supports the teams in operational improvement
  • Develops Standard Work Practices for repetitive maintenance items
  • Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment affecting building equipment, and performs scheduled maintenance and repairs of facility equipment during machine service
  • Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs
  • Performs basic maintenance skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic and troubleshooting and repair of systems.
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Follow Standard Work Instructions
  • Any other duties deemed necessary or appropriate

Requirements

  • Must be able to drive forklift and maintain certification.
  • Must be able to work at heights, working on overhead cranes, repairing ceiling lights, parking lot lights, wall packs and able to work in pits.
  • Must have strength and stamina to lift and maneuver heavy objects.
  • Electrical 12-volt dc to 480-volt ac basic working knowledge.
  • Basic carpenter skills, painting, repair drywall, ceiling work, build offices.
  • Problem Solving - Recognize and solve the malfunctioning of building systems.
