About the Position:

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Inventory Cycle Counter 1 to join our Inventory Control team at our corporate office in Vernon, CA.  The employee is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy by performing cycle counts and recounts as per the CRL Cycle Counting program.  Employee is also responsible for locating misplaced products and researching root causes of inventory discrepancies such as verifying and matching receipts and internal transfers, making comparisons to previous cycle counts, and troubleshooting with the Purchasing and Receiving teams.  The employee uses Tandem ERP as well as internally developed web-based cycle counting apps. The position is on night shift with work hours of 3:30pm - 12:00am.  Position is expected to be transitioned to day shift in 2025.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Follow all company safety rules and regulations.
  • Interface with Tandem ERP, Pullers, and Excel files to obtain products that need to be cycle counted
  • Cycle count products daily based on the product ABC classification, last count date, and last count variation.
  • Perform on-demand cycle counts and locate mislabeled/misplaced products.
  • Adjust on hand stock as per inventory adjustment procedures, current adjustment codes, and escalation processes based on adjustment value.
  • Assign warehouse locations to products and update warehouse racking labels and Product labels as needed.
  • Research inventory discrepancies with support from Purchasing, Receiving, Putway team, and all CRL Service Center Warehouse Managers.  Obtain paperwork to support research (such as Packing Lists, transfer manifests, physical inventory adjustments).
  • Locate products by walking all possible storage locations, such as Receiving and Transfer staging areas, fulfillment areas, and overstock locations in all warehouses.
  • Work with Operations Team to determine root causes on inventory discrepancies and develop and implement corrective actions to eliminate repetitive errors.
  • Maintain company laptop in good operating condition.
  • Support Order Fulfillment and Sales teams by answering all email inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by manager.

Physical Requirements:   

  • Must be able to complete various activities in the warehouse that may require hours of lifting, standing, and carrying.

Qualification Requirements: 

  • Knowledge of CRL product lines.
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations and inventory management systems.
  • Understanding of concept of sellable unit of measure, purchasing unit of measure, master case quantities, and pallet quantities.
  • Familiarity with Tandem programs for checking receipts, transfers, sales, adjustments, and physical inventory.
  • Ability to perform algebra calculations such as addition and multiplication.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to work in non-air conditioned warehouse setting for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work standing or sitting at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Previous experience with cycle counting and root cause analysis / troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of Operations Processes and proficiency with following products through Tandem programs.

Hourly: $21-25 DOE
